About ZDP Clones
ZDP is one of the rarest releases to come out of the James Loud breeding program. Created by crossing the Original Z BX1 (ZBX) with Granddaddy Purple (GDP), this exclusive variety has been shared with only two close friends to date, making it one of the most limited releases in our collection.
The aroma is unmistakably loud, blending the unmistakable candy-forward profile of ZBX with the rich grape and berry character of GDP. Visually, ZDP delivers exceptional bag appeal, producing colorful flowers that consistently stand out in the garden.
One of the biggest improvements over both parents is vigor and production. Thanks to the G41 influence incorporated during the development of the ZBX line, ZDP exhibits substantially improved branching, plant health, and yield potential while maintaining the elite terpene profile that made the original selection so desirable. It produces significantly larger harvests than either parent without sacrificing quality.
Because of its exceptional flower size and density, ZDP performs best when topped early and managed with proper canopy control. Aggressive pruning and excellent airflow are recommended, as the large, tightly stacked flowers can be susceptible to botrytis in humid environments. Growers who give this variety the attention it deserves will be rewarded with outstanding results.
For those searching for a true connoisseur variety that combines elite flavor, striking coloration, improved vigor, strong yields, and unmistakable bag appeal, ZDP checks every box. This is a cultivar built for collectors and serious growers who appreciate exclusivity as much as performance.
ZDP Flavor
An intensely loud bouquet of candied grape, mixed berries, and tropical fruit layered over sweet candy, creamy gas, and subtle floral notes. Breaking apart the flowers releases an even deeper complexity, with ripe grape syrup, citrus zest, and earthy undertones emerging beneath the candy-forward profile. The lingering bouquet remains rich and expressive long after the flowers are handled.
